Rev. Canon Dr. Penny Anderson
Rector
Before joining St. Christopher’s in January 2021, I served three parishes in the Diocese of Niagara. I treasure all I learned and all the ways I encountered the living God through the relationships I nurtured in those places. Along with God’s Spirit, they have helped shape my inclusive and collaborative approach to parish ministry. I love when those “aha” moments happen in groups gathered for worship or service or study! I love when together we notice the marks of God’s work in our midst. It’s true that we are living in troubled times. I embrace the future with energy and hope, knowing that God is faithful, and knowing that St. Christopher’s is a vibrant community where many find a spiritual home. Outside of work, I have a thing for medieval women mystics, summer road trips and home improvement projects. I live in Westdale with my wife Catherine and our teenaged twin boys.

Andy Elmhirst
Director of Music
Andy was born and raised in Campbellford, Ontario where he began studying piano at age 8. He holds an associate degree in piano performance (ACCM) and was made a fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (FRCCO) in 2017. As a diverse musician, Andy is well-suited to lead the broad array of musical styles enjoyed by St. Christopher’s and he considers this church his musical and spiritual home.
Andy lives in Hamilton with his wife Pam, and three boys Henry, Simon and Luke. Apart from music, work and family life, Andy enjoys playing Starcraft and training for triathlons.

Rev. David Montgomery
Assistant Curate
David is in his final year at Trinity College, and a candidate for ordination to the priesthood. He feels so very honoured to call St. Christopher’s home and remains in awe at the wonderful ministries that take place here.
David is a graduate of McMaster University and from there went on to become a Chartered Accountant, Certified Health Executive, Chartered Director, and a Certified Human Resources Leader. In his former life, he worked in public accounting and health care, with the last ten years as president and CEO of a hospital and long-term care home.
In addition to God and the Church, David has many passions, including animals, climate, music, outdoor activities, and travel. He loves books, thunderstorms, amateur beekeeping, and listening to people’s stories. He would love to hear your story.
David lives in Caledonia with his wife, Kate, their daughters, Kyra and Lucy, his mother-in-law, Betty, and their many pets.
